Silver and Vanilla, two-person exhibition together with Yaron Michael Hakim at Elephant Art Space, 2016

Installation and single-channel video (52:31)

Silver and Vanilla is a collaborative work by Yaron Michael Hakim and Isabel Theselius. Its core and driving force is a video that explores the physical and metaphysical landscapes of Los Angeles and nature through nostalgia and tropes found in Hollywood films. The work was exhibited in February at the east LA artist-run space Elephant. There, the artists transformed the gallery’s interior, exterior, and parking lot to create set-like environments that showcased sculptural relics from the video.
