Hej Angels!, solo exhibition at Room Gallery in Irvine, CA, 2014
Hej Angels! is an installation of video works and a painted car created in response to the Swedish artist Anders BOM Lindén, who passed away from pancreatic cancer in the summer of 2012. The work is in dialogue not only with BOM as artist, but as my close friend and mother’s boyfriend as well. The installation filters BOM's fascination with western movie cowboys, American motorcycles and cars, and life in America through my own vision, working from the site that BOM dreamed of but never actually visited. Hej Angels! (Hey Angels!) is a slip of the tongue expression that BOM used when referring to the motorcycle club Hells Angels.
